Blog Tour: Rebel Bully Geek Pariah

Title: Rebel Bully Geek Pariah
Author: Erin Jade Lange
Publisher: Bloomsbury
Publication Date: February 16, 2016
The Breakfast Club gets a modern, high-stakes reboot in this story of four very different teens and a night that changes them forever.

The Rebel: Once popular, Andi is now a dreadlocked, tattooed wild child.
The Bully: York torments everyone who crosses his path, especially his younger brother.
The Geek: Tired of being bullied, Boston is obsessed with getting into an Ivy League college.
The Pariah: Choosing to be invisible has always worked for Sam . . . until tonight.

When Andi, York, Boston, and Sam find themselves hiding in the woods after a party gets busted by the cops, they hop into the nearest car they see and take off—the first decision of many in a night that will change their lives forever. By the light of day, these four would never be caught dead together, but when their getaway takes a dangerously unpredictable turn, sticking together could be the only way to survive.

With cinematic storytelling and compelling emotional depth, critically acclaimed author Erin Jade Lange takes readers on literary thrill ride.

When I first saw what Rebel Bully Geek Pariah was being compared to, I freaked out! Literally. The Breakfast Club was a staple in my house during my childhood. (Yes, my mother was cool enough to let her nine and ten year old daughters watch The Breakfast Club with her!)

By the time my sister and I got to high school, we knew every gesture, every line, and literally everything about the film. Heck, we were even able to sneak the icon letter from the end of the movie in the yearbook!

That letter brings me to today's post. In The Breakfast Club, Mr. Vernon asks Bender, Claire, Andy, Brian, and Allison to write an essay telling him who they think they are. Instead, they come up with this iconic letter:

So what better way to celebrate a book that's being compared to The Breakfast Club than come up with my own letter?

Dear River City Police Department,

We accept the fact that we sacrificed a few days of our lives on the run for whatever it is we did wrong. What we did was wrong on so many different levels, but we think it's stupid to spend time locked up for it, especially when you factor in the fact that we helped you out as well. What we learned during our night together will stick with us forever. But the most important thing that we learned is that not everyone is who they appear to be. "But maybe we're all something a little different than we let people see." Each one of us is a rebel, a bully, a geek, and a pariah, and we're damn proud of it.

Sincerely yours,
The Accidental Fugitives

So... I'm really hoping that the letter grabs your attention and makes you want to read the book. But if you need a little more convincing, feel free to check out my review for Rebel Bully Geek Pariah.
