2015 Summer Blogger Promo Tour: Uncreatively Zoey

The 2015 Summer Blogger Promo Tour is hosted by Amber and Jessica at The Book Bratz. The purpose of the summer-long tour is to get to know other book bloggers while promoting their blogs so that others can discover the many great bloggers in the book blogosphere.

This week, I'm featuring Zoey from Uncreatively Zoey. In case you didn't know, Zoey is an aspiring author. When she told me a little bit about her WIP (work in progress), I just knew that I'd have to highlight it in any way because writing a book is a huge accomplishment. Below, you'll find an excerpt from Zoey's WIP, Shadow Crowns, so be sure to read it and give her all the love it deserves!

An Excerpt from Zoey's Novel

Because Zoey is still working on her book, there isn't much of a synopsis, but what you'll find below is certainly interesting.

An unwilling girl who deals in "poisons and arrows, not swords and bleeding hearts" assassinated the prince a year ago, and now his brother stands to take the throne and reinvigorate the hunt for her. Full of adventure and travel, this book is sure to delight readers.

She drew her eyes skyward and held in a sigh. Out. She was finally getting out. Away. She would miss it, Aludia. She’d never known anything but the jungle, its soaring trees and its mysteries. She’d grown up hiding behind leaves larger than her entire body, fallen asleep to songs of birds and wild things for eighteen years. She could hardly imagine a world without green in it.

Still, she smiled. The merchant would take her to Saelon, to the capital of the Ars desert. She would become Verica Vosgi, a merchant’s daughter, an artist seeking new adventures. She would draw the Arsian people until her fingers bled, live in a tiny house made of dark mud and wood. She would become an Arsian and never look back.

    She would not die.

Prince - rather, King - Nath would surely have people scouring homes for her at this very moment. Wearing the crown for less than twenty-four hours and he was already playing out his first act.

She wondered if there was some kind of bad luck associated with your first act as king being an execution. There must be. Maybe his heirs would be born with extra heads. Maybe he’d slip off a cliff in just a few short months. Or maybe he’d run Aludia into the ground with his reign until the people were forced to band together and throw him in a pit.

    She could dream.
