The Blog Most Likely to... Read My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick + GIVEAWAY

Have you heard that Huntley Fitzpatrick and Dial Books for Young Readers (Penguin Teen) are releasing a new book in August? Seriously... if you haven't you should probably read this post so you are prepared for The Boy Most Likely To when it releases on August 18, 2015.

Bloggers all across the Book Blogsosphere are celebrating the release of The Boy Most Likely To by participating in a blog event called The Blog Most Likely To. Each blogger has chosen his or her own superlative to help Penguin and Huntley celebrate the release of The Boy Most Likely To. My superlative for the event is The Blog Most Likely to Read My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. You'll see why I chose that as my superlative later in the post!

The Boy Most Likely To is a companion book to My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. In case you didn't know, I've had two copies of My Life Next Door on my shelf for ages. Unfortunately, I just never got around to reading the book, even though my sister read it last summer and absolutely loved it.

But this June, I'm changing all of that. You may have noticed that my sidebar now features My Life Next Door as the book I'm currently reading, because my blog's superlative is The Blog Most Likely to Read My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

This month, I'll be reading and posting a review of the novel on my blog, Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble as bloggers and readers gear up for The Boy Most Likely. You'll also be able to see some pictures of the book on my Instagram, so make sure you give that a follow. Be sure to add me as a friend on Goodreads so you're up to date on my thoughts as I read through this already enchanting book.

"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time."

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything.

As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase's family embraces Samantha - even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A transporting debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another.

But... that's not all! This summer, I'll also be reading Huntley's What I Thought Was True. Again, it's been sitting on my shelf for ages... well since my sister picked it up off the new releases shelf and placed it in my basket at Half Price Books without me knowing. I'll forgive her for that one because I actually almost ordered that one before that trip to HPB. I'll be posting update statuses on Goodreads, and of course I'll review it here, on my blog.

Title: What I Thought Was True
Author: Huntley Fitzpatrick
Publisher: Dial Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: April 15, 2014
From the acclaimed author of My Life Next Door comes a swoony summertime romance full of expectation and regret, humor and hard questions.

Gwen Castle has never so badly wanted to say good-bye to her island home till now: the summer her Biggest Mistake Ever, Cassidy Somers, takes a job there as the local yard boy. He's a rich kid from across the bridge in Stony Bay, and she hails from a family of fishermen and housecleaners who keep the island's summer people happy. Gwen worries a life of cleaning houses will be her fate too, but just when it looks like she'll never escape her past—or the island—Gwen's dad gives her some shocking advice. Sparks fly and secret histories unspool as Gwen spends a gorgeous, restless summer struggling to resolve what she thought was true—about the place she lives, the people she loves, and even herself—with what really is.

A magnetic, push-you-pull-me romance with depth, this is for fans of Sarah Dessen, Jenny Han, and Deb Caletti.

I really hope you'll follow me in my journey to read these two books and The Boy Most Likely this summer. There will be some giveaways for signed copies of My Life Next Door, What I Thought Was True, and ARCs of The Boy Most Likely so be sure to stop by my blog or any other blog participating in The Blog Most Likely To... through August for more information on Huntley's books and the giveaways.

  1. I haven't read any Huntley Fitzpatrick book, but her My Life Next Door has been in my TBR as long as I can remember! Maybe I should give this one a try soon as I am a huge sucker for contemporary novels that gives importance to family:)

  2. My sister has read both of Huntley's books, and she loved them. That's why I was so excited when I got the invite to take part in this event. I was just dying to read them, but something always got in the way.

If you end up reading it, let me know. I'm about a third of the way through My Life Next Door right now, and it's adorable. I just love the whole neighbors fall in love thing and the overprotective mother. I'm sure it's going to be a four or five star book for me. :)
