It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (3)

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! You know what Monday means, right? Another installment of "It's Monday!"

"It's Monday! What are You Reading" is a weekly meme created and hosted by BookJourney. On Mondays, you get to share the book or books that you are reading with everyone who reads your blog.

Even though I promised that I would start Scarlet last Monday, I kind of didn't. I got too busy, but that's okay because I'm reading it this Monday.

Scarlet is the second book in The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer. I've been a little busy, so I'm slowly chipping away at it, but I really like it so far. I don't know of I like it as much as I liked Cinder yet, but I'll have to wait and see.

I'm still really glad that the Goodreads group I'm a co-mod for is going to be reading this series starting in September. I've wanted to read them for a while, and now that I've started, I just want them all. Can Fairest and Winter be released like now?

If you haven't read these books, I really think you should. I enjoyed Cinder, and I think anyone who likes fantasy and science fiction would enjoy them.

Synopsis:
Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison--even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive. Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

So what are you reading this Monday? Let me know in the comments or leave a link to your post, and I'll check it out.

  3. Inge - How did you like Fangirl? I liked it when I read it. And Fifty Shades of Grey? Wow. I refuse to read that trilogy, but I hope you enjoyed it.

Jess - I haven't read that. Is it any good?

  4. I've been wanting to read The Lunar Chronicles since I saw Cinder years ago in Barnes and Noble. :( I still haven't gotten around to it. I will next month though! I'm determined to buy at least the first two books. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it. I know a lot of people really like it a bit. I love fairytales so this is definitely a must read series for me. :)

I'm really excited for Fairest and Winter although I'm not positive of the summaries yet, which is probably a good thing since I don't want to see any "spoilers".

I'm reading Looking For Alaska by John Green which I began last night. :) I made a post about it on my own blog.

  5. Amber - I'd been meaning to read them for years, but I finally got around to it because a Goodreads group I'm in decided on it as a series read. I kind of know how you feel. :)

  7. I really liked Fangirl. It was a cute read.

As for Fifty Shades.. oh boy. No, I did not like it hahaha. I was avoiding that series like the plague, but then my co-blogger dared me to read the trilogy. I have never suffered more in my life.

  8. Inge - I liked Fangirl too. I think I'll like it more on a re-read though. I had some trouble with it.

But I've already decided The Fifty Shades books aren't for me. People tried to get me to read them, but I refuse. lol

  9. Jess - Awe. I was so hoping you'd like it. I'll probably never read another John Green book again. I think he's overhyped, plus he's just not very good.
